New Years Day Race

Celebrate the New Year on the water! The VYC New Years Day Race will be a great way to kick off what is going to be a great racing season at VYC.

This event will be like a Beer Can, but with a modified course to make it interesting! Start will be at 2pm off the Riu Hotel. Race committee will be on VHF 72. Get out there and have fun!

Snorkeling at Playa Colimilla - Adult OTW Series

Grab your fins, pack a lunch, and come out for a day of snorkeling in some of the clearest water on the bay. We'll head straight to Playa Colimilla to take advantage of the mornings calm water and increased visibility. Then we'll take the scenic route back with a cruise near Playa Colomitos and Los Arcos while watching for whales. Bring your cameras, water, sunscreen, etc. Leaving off the public dock at 9:30 so don't be late!

Cruise In Week: Festival de Veleros

The Barra de Navidad Cruise-In Week is a combination of cruiser fun and volunteering to help fundraise for Barra's schools. You will have the opportunity to contribute and volunteer in many ways. Events include spending an evening to enjoy entertainment and locally prepared food, an on-the-water concert, and they the 5th annual Flamingo Regatta boat “FUNd Race”. Volunteers Small Boat Regatta - Adult OTW Series

We're hosting a small boat sailing regatta with a twist. This will be an informal race where we would love to invite our dedicated volunteers take a break from race committee and bring out their dinghy of choice instead! Decorate your boat, wear a costume, or just come sail.

All members are welcome to race, but we'll also need some new volunteers for this. If you normally race, please consider helping with mark set this time and we'll take public volunteers as well.

WesMex International Small Boat Regatta

Since its inaugural event in February 2006, the WesMex Regatta has become Banderas Bay's premier small boat event and one of the most important youth sailing events in Mexico. As one of two "Signature Regattas" hosted by the Vallarta Yacht Club, it is sanctioned by the Mexico Sailing Federation, AMVCO, ILCA Mexico, and iQFoil. This event serves as a key qualifier for the Optimist North Americans, Optimist World Championship, and ILCA Youth World Championships.

Keelboat Crew Swap - Adult OTW Events

New to crewing or want to see what it's like to crew on a different boat? Here's your chance! We'll get a few boats out on the water for a fun sail, but with an emphasis on hands on learning. Skippers are urged to keep the crews active, not just a casual sail. Do lots of tacks and gibes, challenge crew to try a new position, raise a spinnaker, etc.
